Conflict, Confrontation & Collections: How To Negotiate Effectively In this lunch and learn session we will meet with a bill collector with 32 years' experience and will talk about diffusing conflict, negotiating stressful situations with collaborative language, and how to keep the butterflies in your stomach down when dealing with difficult clients. What we will cover will help with collecting receivables, dealing with angry customers, and making sure you are representing your company fairly and firmly, but with empathy and kindness.
Blair DeMarco-Wettlaufer is the managing partner of Kingston Data & Credit, and in the last 32 years he has trained over 300 collection agents, registered an agency under ISO 27001, and worked with many companies as a partner and advisor to help them build a better business. He has also tried to treat consumers who owe debt with respect and courtesy, helping to remove themselves from collections, and better their financial situation. He is the managing director of the Receivables Management Association of Canada and a director of the Southwest Ontario chapter of the Credit Institute of Canada.
