Helen is a passionate advocate for women's leadership and empowerment. Over a remarkable 35-year career spanning local government and the non-profit sector, she has had the honour of serving and making a difference in the communities of Chatham Kent, St. Thomas Elgin, and Sarnia Lambton in diverse roles.
Remembering the wisdom of her beloved mentor, Jean Macdougall, Helen established the Jean Collective, A Woman in Politics Initiative. This initiative mirrors my commitment to empowering women in leadership, with a focus on municipal politics. She is immensely proud of their accomplishments to date. Today, their focus has changed slightly so that we focus on leadership rather than solely on politics.
